This week I literally became sick while reading the news. All violence is sickening, but the violence in and around a hospital in Gaza, where aid workers, civilians, patients, children, and the elderly are being killed, was too much for my capacity to process information. This is where it stops. And yet, it continues all over the world.

I urge everyone:

Listen to your heart

Listen to your heart, through all the dark and dusty layers. Against better judgment. Past apprehension, the search. The rush and haste, the ‘I don’t know,’ doubts, and the ‘never mind’s.

Listen to your heart, through all the uncertainty and fears. The shock of yesterday and the dread of tomorrow. The retracement, the turning back, disappearing into a small corner, suffering passively.

Listen to your heart, through the anger. The irrationality and the endless blah blah blah. The stomping and the knowing better. The voice of ‘well, well’ and ‘I have an opinion on that’ to biting annoyances, indignation, irked, petrified, disturbed, embittered.

Listen to your heart, through the unfathomable emptiness, the hopelessness, the black hole, with the end already in sight. Into the inky, unfathomable depth, the beating down, the sullen silence, the yoke of servile obedience. Weary, exhausted, standing still at the crossroads of opportunities, with ‘not being worth it’ to the left and ‘not mattering’ to the right, back is the toxic comparison.

There is only one way to go;

In love, gratitude with courage and fear, with fire and powerful healing thoughts Listen to your heart with passion, fearless tenderness, with gentle caresses of bright white light

Listen to your heart

With trembling fingers, quivering knees, a stone in your stomach, and with courageous surrender
